The 2012 Crown Defence Conference will be held on September 20 and 21 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba.  We invite you to be part of the more than 300 expected attendees to our tenth annual conference. 

Evolving from recommendations made from a Commission of Inquiry, the first conference was held in September of 2002 with a focus on creating an environment where the different players in the criminal justice system could learn to work together to create a fair adversarial system with greater trust and communication between the groups.  Since then the conference has expanded to include a focus on continuing legal education.

The conference is a truly unique learning experience in Canada.  Few other conferences have such diversity in not only the background of the speakers but also the attendees who come from distinct groups in our adversarial system. Bringing together key occupations in the court process to encourage discussion and understanding is a goal of the conference and so the 2012 agenda is specifically designed to be engaging to law enforcement officers, Crown and defence lawyers, and members of the judiciary.
